Getting your license is always an exciting moment. When choosing your first car, you’ll probably want a vehicle that’ll help keep you safe on the road. In addition, modern technology and a few convenient features will make your daily commutes, as well as those long road trips so much nicer. The 2020 Hyundai Accent ticks all these boxes.red 2020 Hyundai Accent parked on the street

Safety Systems

If there’s one thing new drivers need in their vehicles, it’s safety systems. Fortunately, the Accent can be outfitted with a wide variety of dynamic features, including forward collision-avoidance assist. This system constantly scans the area in front of the vehicle for potential collisions. If one is detected, the system sends an alert to the driver and even goes so far as applying the brakes to mitigate the damage or avoid the collision entirely if possible.

A standard driver-assist feature that’s included across all trims of the Accent is a high-quality rearview camera. With this convenient feature, new drivers can reverse into tight parking spots with confidence. The camera is displayed on either a 5-inch or 7-inch touch screen depending on which you opt for.

Infotainment

The touch screen that facilitates the rearview camera also allows you to access the Accent’s numerous infotainment features. You’ll find plenty to keep yourself entertained, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. By connecting your smartphone to your vehicle, you can access some of your favorite apps, such as messaging, calling, music, and navigation.

Accessing infotainment features can be tricky for a new driver because it involves taking your hands off the wheel. To avoid this and help you focus on the road ahead, the Accent offers available voice commands and steering-wheel controls. The Blue Link Connected Car service, which is a complimentary feature for a whole three years after purchase, will provide you with even more convenience, as it’ll allow you to remotely control infotainment features.

Convenience

With the Blue Link system comes a host of other convenient features. These include the ability to remotely start your car with the preferred climate control settings, or remotely lock or unlock the vehicle. In addition, you can access on-demand diagnostics and alerts with this system, find your car if you’ve forgotten where you’ve parked or when it’s stolen, and schedule your car for its next service.

Everyday functionality is also easier with the Accent. You can opt for a proximity key with push-button start that will allow you to effortlessly start the vehicle without having to fumble around looking for your key. Additionally, the Accent features an available hands-free smart trunk release with an auto-open system that will automatically open for you when you approach.
