Fuel Efficiency

The 2020 Hyundai Elantra lets you limit your trips to the gas station thanks to its 14-gallon fuel tank. The SE gives you 31 mpg in the city and 35 mpg at highway speed. SEL, Value Edition, and Limited owners get 30 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. All four vehicles use a Smartstream Intelligent Variable Transmission.

The Eco trim gets 33 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. If you go for the Sport trim, you’ll get 26 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. Both of these vehicles use a dual-clutch transmission.2020 Hyundai Elantra Frederick, MD

Technology

Your new car is full of technology designed to make your next commute more enjoyable. It starts with a standard seven-inch display for your infotainment system. If you choose the Limited trim, you have the option of upgrading to an eight-inch screen. The car has a navigation system built-in to help you find your destination or create an alternate route to avoid a backup. You can have the system read the directions for you while you keep your eyes on the road.

The touch screen also displays the time, the radio station you are listening to, and gives you access to your phone and other apps. You can pair either an Apple or Android smartphone to the car for quick access to your favorite apps. Play your favorite music or listen to an audiobook during your drive.

All of the trims also feature a Bluetooth hands-free phone system. There is a USB port located on the dash behind the shifter to charge your phone. You can safely store the phone in your center console. Another option for charging your phone is using the Qi-compatible wireless charging pad in the Limited trim. The pad is located under the dashboard and keeps your phone secure as it charges. The dashboard also features a 12-volt power outlet and an auxiliary audio jack for your devices.

The car comes with the SiriusXM satellite radio accessibility. You have the option of upgrading to the SiriusXM Data Services, including navigation and traffic in the Limited.

Safety Features

When it comes to safety, every trim features the Hyundai Smartsense safety suite. It includes a high beam assist that automatically dims the lights if another car is approaching. Once you clear the other vehicle, the lights go back on automatically. The driver attention warning system monitors your activities. If it senses you are tired or inattentive, it will suggest you stop for a while. The safe exit assist feature prevents passengers from getting out if a car is approaching.
