Musket Ridge Golf Club
Head just west of Frederick to Myersville and enjoy a round of golf at the Musket Ridge Golf Club. The public club is at 3555 Brethern Church Road. Joe Lee designed the course to take advantage of the area’s natural contours. It is an 18-hole course with a par 72. The course design allows you to finish your game in just over four hours.
Save time when you arrive at the course by reserving your tee time online before you go. The first tee time is at 7 a.m. Monday through Friday and 6:30 a.m. Saturday, Sunday, and on holidays. Junior golfers are welcome at the club with an adult. Ladies’ day is on Thursday with games costing $55, including use of the practice range and a golf cart. You can rent clubs if needed for $40. There is also a practice facility that allows you to work on your short game before you take to the course.
The Links at Challedon
The Links at Challedon offers you a challenging 18-hole, par-72 course. It is 20 miles east of Frederick in Mt. Airy at 6166 Challedon Circle. You can reserve and prepay for your tee time online. Brian Ault designed this course and included water features at six of the holes. There are three tee options, gold, silver, and jade, for players of all ability levels to enjoy. You can warm up on the full-length green or at the putting and chipping greens while you wait for your tee time.
If you start your game before 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, it will cost you $69. On Saturday and Sunday, the price is $79. The price after 2 p.m. Monday through Friday is $49. On the weekends, that drops to $69. Seniors over 60 enjoy $49 games all the time. Junior golfers are welcome at the course. There are leagues and teams specifically designed for younger golfers. The course also offers an after school program.
Glade Valley Golf Club
Another golf option in the area is the 18-hole Glade Valley Golf Club. It’s just outside of Frederick in Walkersville at 10502 Glade Road. You can reserve your time for either a nine-hole or 18-hole game online. The course includes several natural features as well as sand traps to keep you thinking during your game. It is a par 72 with three different tee options for players of all abilities. The rates vary depending on the time of day and what day of the week you want to play.
