  1. National Museum of Civil War Medicine 

Founded in 1993, the National Museum of Civil War Medicine details the city’s role as a medical outpost during the war. In this museum, you’ll learn about the conditions of medical personnel and the innovations in medicine during the war that help patients today. Some exhibits include life in an Army camp, troop evacuations, and hospital ward functions.

You may visit the museum from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday or from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. You need to enter the museum by 4:15 p.m. to see the galleries. downtown of a small town in america

  1. Frederick County Fire and Rescue Museum 

The Frederick County Fire and Rescue Museum displays the history of the county’s fire services. View the ornate hand-drawn hose carriage, built in 1893. Another notable artifact in the museum is the 1939 Ahrens-Fox piston pumper owned by United Fire Co. 3, which is still operational. Spend time checking out various oxygen masks, uniforms, and tools. You can visit from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays from April 6 to October 6.

The Rose Hill Manor Park and Museums is a great place to learn more about early American life, including Frederick County’s transportation and agricultural history. Tours detail the life of Maryland’s first Governor, Thomas Johnson, and others who lived in the manor. You can tour the manor, icehouse, blacksmith shop, and log cabin.

Check out the Carriage, Farm, or Children’s museum during your visit. The Farm Museum details the agricultural practices of the 19th and 20th centuries, and the Children’s Museum gives hands-on tours where kids learn what it was like to grow up in the 1800s. At the Carriage Museum, you can see restored carriages used for sporting and pleasure.

At the Museum of Frederick County History, you can get an in-depth look at life in the area during the Colonial era. Explore various temporary and permanent exhibits, along with historical photographs, artifacts, and archives. Observe the “Local Voice, National Stories: A Frederick History” exhibit to learn more about the county’s impact on the rest of the nation.

Take the Civil War walking tour to understand the life of locals during the war. Some stories consist of the last invasion of the North by the Confederacy and the ransom of Frederick. The African American History walking tour takes you through the African-American community’s historical and cultural center.
