  1. Eastside Artists’ Gallery: 313 East Patrick Street

Twelve local artists started Eastside Artists’ Gallery in 2019. This unique space showcases and supports their work. Each month, a new artist takes over the gallery walls. Visitors can chat with the artists at the gallery’s receptions, held on the first Saturday of the month. You can also learn from these creative talents at the Eastside Artists’ Gallery classes. The gallery runs classes every Monday and Thursday morning. There’s no need to register your place; simply drop in and let your creative juices flow.

  1. NOMA Gallery: 437 North Market Street

If you appreciate the nurturing environment of a co-op space, don’t miss the NOMA Gallery. This co-op gallery was founded in 2015 and now represents 20 artists from across Maryland. They are a diverse group of painters, photographers, printmakers, sculptors, and other creative talents. The NOMA Gallery holds receptions for new exhibitions on the first Saturday of each month and artist lectures on the third Thursday of the month.

  1. Potters’ Guild of Frederick Gallery: 14 South Market Street

The Potters’ Guild of Frederick showcases their wares in this SoMa gallery. Pieces change regularly, but you’ll always find sculptures and functional pieces on display. Everything is for sale, so why not treat yourself or choose a gift for something special? It’s a great way to support the potters in your local community. The Potters’ Guild of Frederick also runs classes from the gallery. They’re a great introduction to the world of ceramics. If you show a talent for the potter’s wheel, you could even join the guild.

  1. Public Art Trail: Downtown Frederick

Everyone should have access to great art, so many of Frederick’s best pieces aren’t hidden behind gallery doors. They’re on show on the Public Art Trail. This community path stretches from the hand-painted “stone” Community Bridge Mural crossing Carroll Creek to the Clarke Fountain outside City Hall. A leisurely two-hour stroll allows time for #VisitFrederick selfies by the murals. Grab the Public Art Trail brochure from the Frederick Visitor’s Center museum to make the most of your art walk.

Whether you love browsing galleries or admiring public art, Frederick has you covered. Explore the city’s artistic side on your next outing.
