Edgy New Look

Hyundai hasn’t released a new generation Tucson since 2015, so a makeover was long overdue. However, few motorists will expect something quite as cutting-edge as what this Hyundai delivers. The new Tucson has an innovative look its designer expects will “freak out” some car lovers.

To date, Hyundai has covered up its new test vehicles to avoid prying eyes, although we do know some things for sure. The latest Tucson has more angular, masculine lines than its predecessors. Its enormous geometric-embellished front grille and split headlights near the bumper are also distinctive. These features make a strong impression from the moment the Tucson approaches. If the designer’s words are anything to go by, expect a few more surprises when the Tucson hits dealerships.hyundia tucson frederick md

Various Engine Options Expected

The Tucson currently lags behind other compact crossovers, so experts predict the 2021 model will get some extra power on board to keep pace. It’s likely Hyundai will put the Sonata’s 2.5-liter inline-four that we saw into the base model Tucson. A turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four is also a likely upgrade option. With the rising popularity of green vehicles, a hybrid motor may also join the line-up. Given Hyundai’s developing an N-Line Kona, we might expect a similar sporty variant of the Tucson too.

Improved Interior Expected

Hyundai hasn’t released details of the Tucson’s interior yet, but that hasn’t stopped speculation. It’s currently on the smaller end of its class, so many sources expect more head and leg room in 2021. Storage space will also hopefully be improved next year. Changes are probably marginal though, as test cars are a similar size to the current model. Any extra space may be more well-appointed than the previous models too. Luxury upholstery options and fine finishes could make the 2021 Tucson more appealing.

Top Tech Features Anticipated

Hyundai’s Uconnect is one of the most user-friendly infotainment systems available. Expect it to be front and center in the Tucson, which should have a large in-dash touch screen like the Sonata and Elantra. Uconnect is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. As we saw in 2020, SiriusXM satellite radio, in-dash navigation, and onboard Wi-Fi should be optional extras for the next model.

Affordable Entry-Level Pricing

Hyundai’s accessible price points have always been one of its strengths. The South Korean auto brand shouldn’t break with tradition in 2021. Auto experts predict the base model 2021 Tucson should be reasonably priced. That makes it competitive with other compact crossovers on the market.

Hyundai’s commitment to innovation and reinvention shines through the 2021 Tucson. While its bold looks might not be to everyone’s tastes, its impressive features should win new fans. Take it for a test drive when it hits dealerships in the second half of the year.
